The State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education met on December 10, 2009, and set the allocations for the 8(g) funding methods for FY 2010-2011. The Board only allocated funds for Student Enhancement Block Grants and Statewide Programs. No funds were allocated for Competitive Grants in FY 2010-2011. After receiving the Initial Evaluation-Evaluator Form in the mail from the BESE office, you will complete the Initial Evaluation-Project Administrator Response form. You can access this document via the link below. The Initial Evaluation-Project Administrator Response form is due in the BESE office on or before January 5, 2010. You may email the completed document to kimberly.tripeaux@la.gov.

8(g) Workshops and Events

In September 2009, the BESE 8(g) staff held workshops in four locations (Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Alexandria and New Orleans) to assist Project Administrators with managing their 2009-2010 8(g) Block or Competitive Grants. Discussion topics included property tagging, reimbursement requests, budget revisions, project evaluations, end of year reports, and more. Click on the link below to access the workshop presentation.

Any agency which is not a public education agency that may be interested in requesting 8(g) funds from BESE must complete a Pervasively Sectarian Status Questionnaire to determine its sectarian status and certify under oath that its responses are true and correct.
