LEA Application

[''Money''] The overall purpose of this application is twofold: (1) the development and implementation of assurances and procedures that specify the provision of a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to all children with disabilities within the Local Education Agency’s (LEA) jurisdiction who are eligible for such services; (2) the basis for obtaining flow-through funds under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). (When IDEA is referenced in the document, preschool funds under Section 619 as described in 20 USC 1419 are included.) The projected uses of such funds are described in meeting the needs of students with disabilities. The application also serves as a planning guide for the LEA. Within the framework of written procedures, needs are identified, goals and objectives are developed, and priorities are established for the use of IDEA funds. By adhering to Federal and State statutes and regulations by clearly identifying needs, and by carefully planning to meet those needs effectively, the LEA can fulfill the intent and purpose of the IDEA.

Applications are due in June of each year.
