Exclusion from LaTAAP for Out-of-State Teachers
Experienced teachers from other states who enter Louisiana schools for the first time and provide appropriate evaluation results from their immediate previous teaching assignments may be excluded from participation in the mandated State Assistance and Assessment Program.
To be eligible for exclusion, a teacher's immediate previous teaching assignment must include a minimum of two full creditable years of experience. Prior to applying for exclusion educators from out-of-state should review the contents of the out-of-state exclusion packet thoroughly. The Out-of-State Exclusion Packet includes: Q & A to help the new teacher understand the exclusion process, Instructions to assist the new teacher and contact person in completing and monitoring the application for exclusion, Form to provide verification of employment and to authorize the release of requested evaluation information, and a sample Dear Educator Letter to specify for the former employer the steps necessary to verify, to complete, and to return the Request for Exclusion and Release of Evaluation Information Form.
