Welcome to the Louisiana Department of Education's Testing Resource Center. Teachers, families and students may access multiple tools to help support students throughout the school year, and as they prepare to take the state’s standardized exams: iLEAP, LEAP and GEE.
Tools, information and resources are provided for students in grades Preschool through 3rd grade; 4th through 8th grade; and High School. Through interactive web-based tools, PASS Online, Newton’s Classroom and Reading Runway, students receive instructional feedback based on their responses and take tutorials in math, science or reading.
Teachers, families and students may also take advantage of Released Test Items and PASS On Paper. Students and their families may also utilize the Sample Test Books for students in 4th, 8th, 10th and 11th grades. These Sample Test Books contain items that are similar to those that appear on the LEAP and GEE. The fourth- and eighth-grade Sample Test Books contain questions in English Language Arts and mathematics, while the Sample Test Book for the GEE contains questions in English Language Arts, mathematics, science and social studies.
Additionally, as an added resource to the Sample Test Books, LDOE will once again host its Tutoring Hotline, which is specifically centered on assisting 4th and 8th grade students and their families as they prepare to take the LEAP. Tutors assist students and their families in answering questions from the Sample Item Test Books. The Hotline will operate from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning March 14 and ending April 8. The toll-free phone number for the Hotline is 1-877-453-2721.
Another study tool for 4th and 8th grade students are the LEAP Tutoring Lessons, which are designed to offer students remediation in the English Language Arts and mathematics standards and benchmarks that are covered on the LEAP. These lessons offer step-by-step scripted lessons so that noneducators may instruct students; teachers may also tailor these tutoring lessons for the classroom.
Throughout the year, educators can take advantage of the state’s EAGLE System, which allows teachers to develop online practice tests for students. Model Lessons for science and social studies instructors may also be useful to help students master the content standards in those subjects. Teachers also rely on LDOE’s Assessment Guides, which provide descriptions of the test design and content.
